Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 178th Meeting the following resolution:
- CRC appreciates the handling of the security incident that took place on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, at the University of West Bohemia. Security at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is a key priority for all CRC members and maximum attention is paid to it.
- CRC draws attention to the non-systemic nature of inclusion of the new support for studying parents taking care of children (the so-called babysitting fee) in the amendment to the Higher Education Act. Given that it is a form of social benefit that belongs to the authorization of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and to the Act on State Social Support, this form of support cannot burden the budgets of HEIs.
- CRC draws attention to the need to clarify the schedule of steps and processes associated with the planned termination of the activities of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education and the start of the activities of the new Accreditation Agency. At the same time, CRC appreciates the offer of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mikuláš Bek, for a joint procedure in the eventual modification and addition of relevant legislative documents.
